‘Suits’ Reddit Is in a Frenzy Over What the Spinoff Confirmed About Harvey and Donna

Given how Suits fans have been desperate to know what happened with Harvey and Donna’s relationship since the show ended in 2019, folks on Reddit seriously couldn’t get over this surprise family update.

As Suits LA continues to air new episodes every week, many original Suits fans couldn’t wait to see Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) turn up in Los Angeles. But what we didn’t expect is to hear a sentimental life update from him and his wife Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty)!

On the April 20 episode of the NBC reboot, fans got to see Harvey get back in step with Ted Black (Stephen Amell) as the latter came to New York for assistance on a case. While viewers got to see Ted and Harvey (who have been friends/work nemeses for some time) try to figure out how to put a mobster back in prison, they also got to learn a surprise detail about how Harvey has been faring since we last saw him on Suits.

As viewers saw Harvey’s phone light up, a message appeared from a contact titled “My Boy.” It read: “Daddy, when are you going to call?” This led Harvey to confirm that he and Donna had a son — but he refused to reveal to Ted what they had named him.

Harvey has a son ,” one Reddit user commented. “‘MY BOY. DADDY.’ I need to be sedated, I think ,” another emotionally penned. “Love that Harvey has a son ,”a different viewer added.

As fans remember, Harvey and Donna’s on-screen chemistry was off the charts from the very beginning of Suits. Despite always having feelings for each other (and Donna making a surprise move on him in season 7), the couple finally got together in season 8 of the original series. What’s more, viewers got to see Harvey and Donna tie the knot in an unexpected proposal and ceremony in the series finale. And judging from this unforeseen update, it looks like Harvey and Donna are living happily ever after.

Now, does this mean Sarah would reprise her role as Donna Paulsen any time soon? While we don’t know if it will happen in the future, we do know that she is open to returning to Suits LA if she’s ever asked to do so.

“I’m always happy to put on the high heels and show up and support,” she told Good Housekeeping when asked about the spinoff in October 2024. “But I also can support from behind the scenes, watching and enjoying it and spreading the word.”
