The Creola Volunteer Fire Department said four people were killed in a single-vehicle accident back on June 17.
Five people were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
One person survived and sustained significant injuries.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency on Thursday released the names of those killed in the crash. Jacoby R. Ruggs, 27, Sadie Mose, 23, Jamariyah S. Thomas, 21, and Jaglen P. Robinson, 24, all of Mobile, were fatally injured when the 2003 Honda Accord driven by Ruggs left the roadway, struck a culvert, and overturned, authorities said.
According to ALEA, Ruggs, Mose and Thomas were not using seat belts at the time of the crash, were ejected and were all pronounced deceased at the scene. Robinson was also pronounced deceased at the scene.
Another passenger in the Honda, Princeton M. Warren, 31, also of Mobile, was injured and taken to University Hospital in Mobile for treatment, authorities said.
The crash happened on Interstate 65 near the 22 mile marker, about 15 miles north of Mobile.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
