Cody Rhodes unveils new name for WWE Championship ahead of Clash at the Castle

Cody Rhodes is set to defend his WWE Championship against AJ Styles in an intense “I Quit” Match at the Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event in Glasgow, Scotland, later tonight. In a notable reveal during the latest episode of SmackDown, Rhodes referred to his championship as “The North Star of WWE,” adding a new layer of significance to the title.

During a heated segment on SmackDown, Rhodes and Styles exchanged harsh words, with Styles highlighting Cody’s history of quitting WWE, TNA, ROH, and AEW. In response, Rhodes emphasized that his willingness to leave was driven by a pursuit of “something greater.” He asserted that if he had not made those bold decisions, he wouldn’t be the current holder of “The North Star of WWE.”

Rhodes further solidified this sentiment by sharing a clip of the promo on his Twitter account, captioned simply with the phrase “The North Star.” This title, symbolizing a fixed point of guidance, underscores the championship’s pivotal role in WWE history, akin to the North Star’s role in navigation and mythology.

As the Clash at the Castle event approaches, the tension between Rhodes and Styles continues to build. Despite Rhodes’ victory over Styles at Backlash France last month, Styles orchestrated a fake retirement on SmackDown, followed by a surprise attack on Rhodes. This act secured him a rematch, with Rhodes adding the high-stakes “I Quit” stipulation.

However, Cody faces significant challenges, as Styles has allies Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows by his side. The outcome of tonight’s match remains uncertain, with the possibility of Styles forcing Rhodes to utter “I Quit” looming large. This bout promises to be a defining moment for both competitors and the WWE Championship’s legacy.
