THORNTON, CO. — On Saturday night, a violent two-vehicle collision in Thornton claimed the lives of four members of a Colorado family and badly injured another. According to the Thornton Police Department, the collision happened at the junction of Thornton Parkway and Washington Street at approximately 7:30 p.m. According to police, all four people inside one of the two cars involved in the collision perished when it caught fire. The second car’s driver suffered severe injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The victims’ family members identified the four people killed in the fiery crash as follows:
Francisco Díaz – father.
Beatriz Núñez – mother.
Paola Díaz – 15-year-old daughter.
Nataly Díaz – 10-year-old daughter
Family member Daniel Díaz told Denver7 that the four were on their way to Walmart after church when the collision occurred. He claimed that because the trauma is so recent, he hasn’t properly processed it yet. “We are disoriented. We have no idea what will happen next,” Díaz stated. “It’s difficult to believe, so it doesn’t even seem real yet.”
Díaz claimed that an alert on his phone was the first source of information about the tragedy. He said, “I received a notification on my phone stating that my younger sister was involved in an accident.” “I ran out at that point. I got to my vehicle. I gave my brother a call. The cause of the collision is being looked into. No other information was released by the police.
