THP: 16-year-old dead, another injured, after car crashed into bear in Campbell County

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Highway Patrol said a 16-year-old died and another 16-year-old was injured after the teens crashed into a bear in Campbell County.
A preliminary report said the teens were driving south on Stinking Creek Road at around 8:15 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday. A black bear crossed in front of the car from the east side of the road and the teens crashed into it, according to the report.
It said the teens “struck it with the front bumper of his truck.”
The car then stopped on the road, according to law enforcement. The report said the teens were unable to avoid the bear.
