Treat Williams, ‘Blue Bloods’ actor, dead at 71 following vehicular collision in Vermont

Treat Williams, best known for his parts in the television series “Hair” and “Everwood,” passed away on Monday in Dorset, according to the police. He was seventy-one. Williams was driving along Morse Hill Road at around 4:53 p.m. when his motorbike was unable to escape a Honda SUV and the two cars crashed, according to a statement released by the Vermont State Police online, confirming the fatality. “The Vermont State Police is investigating a crash between an SUV and a motorcycle Monday afternoon, June 12, 2023, in Dorset in which the operator of the motorcycle suffered fatal injuries,” the statement continued. “The motorcyclist is identified as Richard Treat Williams, 71, of Manchester Center, Vermont.” The collision occurred on Vermont Route 30 just north of Morse Hill Road, according to the police.

“Initial investigation indicates the Element stopped, signaled a left turn, and then turned into the path of a northbound 1986 Honda VT700c motorcycle operated by Williams,” the statement continued. The police claim that Williams was flung from his motorcycle and suffered serious injuries as a result of his inability to dodge the approaching vehicle. After being transported by plane to Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York, he was later declared deceased.

Medical professionals at the scene examined the second motorist for minor injuries; however, no hospitalization was necessary. “We’re only getting started with the crash inquiry. The crash scene will be further processed by team members when they return to the scene on Tuesday, June 13, according to the Vermont State Police. A member of the Crash Reconstruction Team was on the scene on Monday evening. The first person on the scene was Shaftsbury Barracks Trooper Jared Lacoste.
