Some Tourists Jump Barrier to Take Photo at Edge of 317ft Waterfall in Yosemite Park Has Been Confirmed Dead

At the peak of Yosemite National Park, two tourists leaped over a barrier to take a picture at the edge of a 317-foot plunge.

In order to take a picture, two tourists in the video scale a safety barrier in Yosemite National Park at California’s Vernal Fall and pose perilously near the edge of the cliff. In the footage, a tourist is seen squatting down to take a picture with their back to the waterfall’s 317-foot drop. The second traveler is captured on camera using a smartphone to snap a picture of his pal.

The visitor is even seen in the video a little later on, feigning to jump off the cliff in order to take a humorous picture. One of Yosemite’s strongest waterfalls is Vernal Fall. Despite not being the tallest waterfall in Yosemite National Park, the rocks and swiftly flowing water below it present a significant risk. In addition to putting themselves in danger, the tourists’ dangerous actions may have harmed the cliff edge by eroding the rock structure, according to Active Norcal.

A guy was imprisoned last week for attempting to capture pictures while trespassing close to Yellowstone National Park’s active Steamboat Geyser. American visitor Viktor Pyshniuk, 21, was found guilty of thermal trespassing at Steamboat Geyser in the Norris Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park and given a seven-day prison sentence. Pyshniuk, a Lynwood, Washington resident, was also fined $1,500 in addition to court costs, and prohibited from entering Yellowstone National Park for a period of two years. Pyshniuk was also placed on two years of unsupervised release. Pyshniuk’s sentencing was intended to discourage him and other members of the public from leaving the boardwalk in the future and breaking park safety regulations in order to take pictures, according to Magistrate Judge Stephanie Hambrick, who sentenced him to jail.
