Sadly, Rapper Fatman Scoop dies after collapsing during Connecticut show at age 56

Rapper Isaac Freeman III, better known by his stage name Fatman Scoop, passed away on stage following a collapse at a Connecticut show. According to his booking agency, he was 56 years old. According to Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett, the rapper had a medical emergency on Friday while doing a performance at Hamden Town Center Park. According to Garrett, he was taken by EMS to a nearby hospital.

Shortly before the crash, Scoop was seen energizing the audience at Hamden’s Green and Gold Party in a concert video. Following his collapse, a group of people gathered around the back of the platform, and another artist was visible leading the audience in prayer.

Birch Michael, Scoop’s tour manager, announced the rapper’s passing on social media. He gave no details on what led to Scoop’s breakdown or demise. Michael wrote early on Saturday morning, “I am honestly at a loss for words.” ” You took me all over the world and had me performing alongside you on some of the biggest and greatest stages on this planet, the things you taught me have truely made me the man I am today.”

In a statement, the rapper’s booking agency, MN25, also confirmed his passing. An MN2S representative paid tribute to the New Yorker, describing him as a “beloved figure in the music world” whose “iconic voice, infectious energy, and great personality made an indelible mark on the industry.” Scoop was remembered by his family as a “father, uncle, and friend” in addition to being a “world-class performer” in a heartfelt social media message.
