According to authorities, three teens who perished in an accident yesterday might have been racing other vehicles. A silver Vauxhall Corsa driven by 17-year-olds Jonathan Scott and Robert Tepper, together with two girls, were overtaking when it struck a VW Golf head-on. The teenagers and Lauren, Jonathan’s 16-year-old girlfriend, who was the only passenger in the backseat, passed tragically. Following the incident near Mexborough, South Yorkshire, last night, another sixteen-year-old girl, who has not been identified, was battling for her life in the hospital.

Suspected of causing death by reckless driving, two youths, ages 18 and 19, who were in other vehicles on the same stretch of road at the time of the collision, were taken into custody. On bond, they were set free.
