Patrol officers were called to an apartment complex on the 4800 block of East 43rd Avenue at 11:32 p.m. on August 13, in response to a weapon-related incident, as stated in a news release. A female was reportedly threatening people inside the flat with a knife. The start of the home security footage is at 11:40:00 p.m. The blurry black-and-white footage is set up inside a window that faces Tudor Road’s Greenbriar Apartments’ parking lot. Across the parking lot in the distance is the Leafa residential building. The home video captures a light source, most likely from a flashlight, lighting the balcony from below about 11:41:00 p.m. The family claims that Easter was at this location when the cops showed there, carrying.

A few minutes later, at 11:45:07 p.m., Easter Leafa’s black figure is visible on the balcony, and flashlights are visible from inside the apartment. As shown on the home security footage, additional police spotlights shine light from inside the apartment 36 seconds later, at 11:45:43 p.m. “Officers approached Easter by opening the screen door. At a press conference earlier this week, Anchorage Police Chief Sean Case stated, “They asked her to remove the blanket, stand up, and drop the knife.” She got to her feet. She removed the blanket and spun around. Her right hand was clutching a knife. Easter then moved to face the officers, holding the knife about halfway up her leg.
