Done deal: Martin Zubimendi drops Liverpool transfer hint with wordless response to Real Sociedad question worth $56m

Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi has been identified as a potential transfer target for Liverpool, but he is currently in Germany for their preseason match against Union Berlin.

Martin Zubimendi, a midfielder for Real Sociedad, is being pursued by Liverpool. The 25-year-old has been identified by the Reds as possible first signing for new head coach Arne Slot. However, the La Liga team has made an effort to convince the midfield player to stay with his boyhood club in San Sebastien, raising doubts about a possible trade. When La Real included the champion of Euro 2024 in their team for their preseason friendly against Union Berlin in Germany, there was even more doubt about the deal.

But according to reports that surfaced on Thursday night, the midfield player is eager to join the Premier League this summer.

Before the friendly on Friday night at 6 p.m., Zubimendi traveled to the German city with his Sociedad colleagues (August 9). The fan account @Baybars_lfc posted a photo of the Liverpool target with the message, “Brothers, me and Zubamendi #Liverpool.”

After seeing the tweet, other supporters swiftly noticed it and inquired in the replies as to if the fan had urged the midfield player to sign with the Reds. “I swear I asked him and he answered me with a smile,” the fan replied in response. Lord willing, he will visit us.”
