Deadly Campbell County crash kills 21-year-old man from Concord

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Virginia State Police are investigating a deadly single-vehicle accident in Campbell County that resulted in the death of a Concord man on September 18.

The crash occurred on Wednesday, September 18 at 12:57 a.m. near Brookneal Highway on Route 501.

 

Flash flooding in Roanoke leaves drivers stranded

A 2007 Cadillac Escalade was headed north when it went over the center line, off the left side of the road, and then hit a tree. The collision caused the Escalade to catch fire.

21-year-old Devren B. Atkins of Concord was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing his seatbelt.

VSP said the investigation is still ongoing.
