Teenager Ejected From Car During Crash On Route 24 In Morris County

An 18-year-old was seriously injured when two SUVs collided on Route 24 in Morris County this past weekend, police said.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A teenager was injured Sunday in a collision between two SUVs on Route 24 in Morris County, New Jersey State Police said.

The 18-year-old student from Whippany was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.

 

The crash was reported at 12:23 p.m. on Sunday on the eastbound side of the freeway near milepost 2.95 in Florham Park, police said. A Suzuki SUV and an Infiniti SUV were both traveling east when the driver of the Suzuki veered over, hitting the Infiniti and causing it to flip over, according to Lebron.

The teen, who was one of the five passengers in the Infiniti, was ejected from the car during the crash, police said.

 

Reports indicate that the teen, who has not been identified by police, is a senior on the Whippany Park High School girls soccer team.

Lebron also noted that both drivers and three other passengers in the Infiniti sustained minor injuries in the crash. They were not identified.

The crash remains under investigation.
