The pilot died in a plane crash earlier this week has been recognized by Northeast Nebraska authorities. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports that a crash on Monday, August 26 claimed the life of Charles Finck, 79, of Elk River, Minnesota. According to the sheriff’s office, the jet crashed roughly three miles west and seven miles north of Wayne. Finck was the owner of the Piper PA-28-140 that crashed close to Wayne, according to register data. Another plane disaster occurred in Northeast Nebraska on the same day as this one. Joseph Rudolf, 73, of Norfolk, Nebraska, perished in a plane crash close to Crofton, according to authorities.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol, the Wayne crash occurred shortly after the crash at Crofton. The crashes are being looked at by the National Transportation Safety Board Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
