“It’s devastating”: A teenage girl is struck and killed by a car while crossing the street to go home from work.

Nathaniel Clark, a tenth grader at Hermitage High School, was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking home over the weekend. The teen’s mother stated that her son was leaving his job at Firehouse Subs and walking home when he was hit. The investigation is ongoing, and investigators are looking into what may have caused the crash but say alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

Public works employee Terrell Hughes stated, “It’s heartbreaking that we are here less than two weeks after we last spoke about another fatal accident with a pedestrian.” As far as current efforts to increase safety are concerned, this is a very high priority. It was devastating to learn of the student’s passing, according to Michael Jackson, principal of Hermitage High School. We have experienced a loss in our Panther community, and I am reaching out to you with heavy heart. According to his remark, “Our students and faculty naturally experience trauma when a classmate passes away.” The family of the young man needs our support as they deal with their tragic loss. There will be counselors on hand at the school, according to Jackon.
