3 dead, 3 teens seriously injured in SC head-on crash

A head-on collision that occurred in northern Pickens County on Sunday afternoon resulted in three fatalities and three teenagers with critical injuries. Following the crash, Megan Mullinax, 25, Kandice Broome, 14, and Furman Broome, 9, perished from blunt force injuries. According to the coroner, the victims were connected and shared a residence in Greenville. Mullinax and her two companions were in a 1999 Honda Civic when it struck a 2011 Honda Pilot. Two 13-year-old passengers and the 16-year-old driver of the Honda Pilot were sent to Greenville Memorial Hospital with critical injuries.

The collision occurred on Sunday around 2:00 pm on Highway 11 in the vicinity of West Gate Road, not far from Table Rock State Park’s entrance. According to the Highway Patrol, the Honda Pilot SUV struck the Civic head-on after it crossed the middle line on Highway 11. Everyone in the collision was buckled up in their seat belts. The Highway Patrol is looking into the crash.
