Two dead, 44 escape unhurt as two planes collide at Nairobi National Park

When two planes collided at Nairobi National Park, at least two persons died. 44 more people managed to leave the Tuesday morning tragedy unscathed. The incident included a Cessna aircraft and a Safari Link Dash 8 with registration number 5YSLK, carrying 44 passengers and crew on its way to Diani.

When the incident occurred, the Cessna with registration number 5YNNJ was being used for a training session and had two occupants, according to the authorities. The Dash 8 made a successful landing back at Wilson Airport, but the Cessna plane crashed in the park. Officials reported that Wilson Airport was the starting point for both aircraft. Two people died in the crash, according to an official.

However, Safarilink Aviation acknowledged the occurrence and declared that none of their passengers had sustained any injuries. “Safarilink Aviation wishes to report that shortly after takeoff, our flight number 053, carrying 39 passengers and 5 crew members, experienced a loud bang this morning at 9:45 Local Time.” The flight was bound to Diani. “The crew made the prompt decision to return to Nairobi-Wilson Airport for additional examination and evaluation, and they made a safe landing. The operator stated that no casualties had been reported. According to their statement, Safarilink Aviation and the appropriate authorities have been contacted and are jointly investigating the situation.
