Seven arrests over reports of city centre attack

Following severe head injuries to a man in his 60s in Birmingham’s downtown, seven persons have been taken into custody. Just after 21:00 BST on Saturday, officers were dispatched to Bennetts Hill in response to complaints of an attack on male. West Midlands Police, who are still conducting an investigation at the scene, have issued an appeal for witnesses after initially believing that the man’s head injuries were potentially fatal. Four ladies, ages 20 to 24, and three guys, age 23, are still being held under suspicion of injuring.
