Sad News: Community reacts after Michigan sheriff’s deputy shot, killed during stolen car investigation

A number of law enforcement agencies and community leaders have made public remarks in the wake of the shooting death of a Michigan sheriff’s deputy on Saturday night while conducting an investigation into a stolen vehicle. Two detectives and Oakland County Deputy Bradley Reckling were conducting an investigation after a car was taken from Madison Heights’ Red Oaks Waterpark sometime between 1 and 5:15 p.m. After traveling to Detroit for their investigation, Reckling found the stolen car around 10:50 p.m. The automobile stopped while he was behind it, and somebody got out and started shooting.
