HEARTBREAKING: Man shot, 10-year-old grazed by bullet after shooting inside pool area of apartment complex in Jefferson County

Writer: CJ Daniels Published on July 13, 2024, at 10:02 PM EDT As of 10:02 p.m. EDT 13 July 2024 LOUISVILLE, KY: After a shooting in southeast Jefferson County, a man was shot and a 10-year-old received a grazing wound. The incident, according to Metro Police, took place at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Saturday inside a pool area of an apartment building located in the 12600 block of Saxony Park Circle, just south of Taylorsville Road. When police arrived, they were informed that a male child, thought to be around ten years old, had a gunshot wound that was just grazed. The child signaled for assistance to first responders while they were with a family member.

He was taken to Norton Children’s Hospital and is expected to be okay. A man who was also at the scene had suffered a gunshot wound. EMS gave the victim first aid and he was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police have not determined what may have led up to the shooting or the relationship between the two victims, if any. They do not have any suspects.
