_Breaking: Dixie Highway Shut Down as LMPD Investigates Serious Accident_
Louisville, KY – The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) has closed Dixie Highway in both directions as they investigate a serious accident that occurred earlier today.
According to LMPD spokesperson, Officer Joan Deaton, the accident involved multiple vehicles and resulted in at least one person being transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
“The scene is currently being processed by our collision unit, and we urge drivers to avoid the area until further notice,” said Officer Deaton.
Dixie Highway, a major thoroughfare in southwestern Louisville, will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time as investigators work to determine the cause of the accident.
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes, such as Third Street Road or Preston Highway, to avoid congestion.
