BREAKING NEWS: Car sales on the side parkway will soon be….

Pigeon Forge and the Tennessee Department of Transportation have agreed to make this adjustment. TDOT owns the parkway and its “right of way,” which includes the first row of parking lots in front of businesses on the parkway. The state agency leases those parking spaces to the town of Pigeon Forge, who then sub-lease them to local companies. According to the contract negotiated between TDOT and Pigeon Forge in 2016, vehicles parked in such spots are not permitted to display any advertising. However, the sublease agreements between TDOT and local businesses stated that cars parked on the right of way may not be advertised for more than 72 hours.
