A devastating incident has shaken the Rod Run car festival in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, leaving a family in mourning. Jeremy Hanes Jr., a 31-year-old man from Charlestown, Indiana, lost his life in a tragic crash on Thursday, April 20, near the festival groun

According to eyewitnesses and police reports, Hanes Jr. was riding an electric scooter north on the Parkway when a passenger in a stopped truck opened the door, causing Hanes Jr. to crash into it. He fell from the scooter and suffered fatal injuries. Despite being airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Hanes Jr. succumbed to his injuries on Friday, April 21.

 

Jeremy Hanes, the victim’s father, was at the festival with his son and expressed his grief, saying, “He’s not coming back.” The father-son duo shared a passion for cars and had attended the Rod Run festival together every year. This tragedy has left a void in their lives and the car enthusiast community.
