Breaking News: Aston Martin share update on new wind tunnel and preparations for Honda’s arrival

Aston Martin Performance Director Tom McCullough has voiced his excitement at the team’s continued development of their headquarters at Silverstone amid the next steps of the project, which comes as Honda prepare to join as the squad’s new engine partner in 2026.

The British outfit have already completed some significant stages of the construction, with their new AMR Technology Campus ¬– which houses departments including the engineers, Research and Development, commercial and IT – having opened its doors in July 2023.

Further buildings are on the way, which will include a new wind tunnel as well as additional staff facilities and a new simulator ahead of the introduction of the next generation of technical regulations in the sport in the 2026 season.

The 2026 campaign will see Honda partner with Aston Martin and, while there are still one and a half seasons remaining until then, McCullough says that the Japanese manufacturer is already becoming a part of the team.

“[There have been] a lot of meetings with Honda, as you can imagine, in preparation for ’26, both face-to-face and also online,” he added. “Their presence is very much within our team now, and yeah, just a huge amount of work that we’re going through, a lot of change.
