RACING LEGEND SHELDON KINSER HANGS UP HIS HELMET: Forced into Retirement by Ongoing Health Battle

Sheldon Kinser, a three-time USAC Sprint Car Series Champion and a legend in the racing world, has announced his retirement from professional racing due to health concerns. Kinser, who has been battling health issues for an extended period, made the difficult decision to step away from the sport he loves.

 

Kinser’s illustrious career spanned over a decade, during which he competed in the USAC and CART Championship Car series, with 38 combined career starts, including the Indianapolis 500. He achieved 11 top-10 finishes, with a best of third at Texas World Speedway in 1979. Kinser’s impressive stats and numerous accolades have cemented his place in the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame, where he was inducted in 1992.
