On Friday night, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever faced off against the Atlanta Dream. Both teams are currently tied in the WNBA standings with six wins each, but the Dream have the upper hand with three fewer losses.

Caitlin Clark, a former standout player for the Iowa Hawkeyes, was surprisingly left off the Team USA women’s basketball roster for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Despite her exceptional skills and popularity, which have significantly boosted viewership for the WNBA, Team USA opted for more experienced WNBA veterans over Clark.

Before the game on Friday, Clark was asked about the possibility of competing in the Olympics for Italy. Her response was direct and unequivocal.

“I have Italian heritage, but I don’t know about all that,” Clark stated.

Clark’s Italian ancestry could make her eligible to play for Italy if she chose to represent another country. However, her comments suggest that she is not keen on pursuing this option.

The Olympics are set to commence in late July. During this period, the WNBA will take a monthlong break to accommodate its players who will be competing for gold overseas.

As the Olympics approach, the focus remains on the remarkable talents of players like Caitlin Clark, who continue to captivate audiences and make significant impacts on the court, regardless of the international stage.
