Angel Reese was ejected from the game on Tuesday after an exchange with a referee. The incident occurred with 2:31 left in the fourth quarter of the Sky’s game against the New York Liberty at Wintrust Arena.
Reese was called for a personal foul and disagreed with the call, hurling words at the referee. She was given two technical fouls and ejected from the game.
The Sky went on to lose the game 88-75. Lead official Maj Forsberg said the ejection was due to “disrespectfully addressing” the ref and “waving her hand in dismissal.”
NBA star Lonzo Ball, who was courtside for the game, offered to pay any fine that Reese received for the encounter on social media, saying “Ref that threw out @Reese10Angel is weak btw… You know who you are (Keep ya money Angel I got you)”.
Reese responded, saying “Appreciate you gang!”
