Raiders Has Completed a $70 Million Trade Deal with The Award-Winning QB.

Teams hoping to move their selection slot in the NFL Draft will no doubt be the subject of rumors with the event less than a month away. With so many elite quarterbacks in this year’s draft class, as the NFL Draft draws nearer, the whispers will probably start to swirl. Both the Minnesota Vikings and the Las Vegas Raiders hope to land in one of the top three draft spots, since they both have substantial needs at quarterback.

With expensive veteran Kirk Cousins gone, the Vikings have brought in veteran Sam Darnold to man the quarterback position. But at this stage of his career, Darnold doesn’t seem like a quarterback who general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O’Connell can build a winning club around. Instead, he projects himself as a transition quarterback.

Aidan O’Connell, a quarterback in his second season, and Gardner Minshew were both signed by the Raiders during the free agency period. In 2024, Minshew might start at quarterback for head coach Antonio Pierce after having a stellar season as the Indianapolis Colts’ backup.

Minshew is accurate, astute, and resourceful, but he doesn’t seem like the kind of quarterback who can guide the team for several seasons.

Caleb Williams of USC will most likely be chosen by the Chicago Bears as the first overall choice in the draft. The Bears obviously need a franchise quarterback as they dealt former starter Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier in the summer. In the final days and weeks leading up to the draft, there’s no reason to believe they will abandon Williams and the first pick.

The next two quarterbacks who are most likely to be selected in the draft are North Carolina’s Drake Maye and LSU’s Jayden Daniels. Either of those individuals might be chosen by the Washington Commanders, who have a great need at that position. Former quarterback Mac Jones was sent to Jacksonville by the New England Patriots, and they have also.
