Angels Officially Signed a $140m Contract With Red Sox Super Star Six-Time All-Star Player, As They…

Some of the best unsigned free agents are finally beginning to sign as Opening Day approaches.
Blake Snell, the two-time Cy Young Award winner, was the top pitcher available in free agency and allegedly reached an agreement on Monday night to sign with the San Francisco Giants.
Former Boston Red Sox All-Star slugger J.D. Martinez is another outstanding free agent still on the market.
The six-time All-Star played for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2023, where he hit 33 home runs and drove in 103 runs, but he is still searching for his next chance.
The Los Angeles Angels are one team that purportedly has interest in the star slugger, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

“(Jordan Montgomery), an October hero who proved better than the (New York Yankees) thought, would seem like another possibility,” Heyman stated. However, he has been associated more closely with the Chicago Cubs, Red Sox, Texas Rangers, and other teams.
“A less expensive star like Martinez could seem more feasible at this point. It’s said that the Angels think the same of him. However, the Angels might rather hold onto the designated hitter position for both Anthony Rendon, a far more injury-prone veteran than Mike Trout, and Trout.”

Martinez, who will be 36 years old when the 2024 season begins, probably won’t sign a big contract at this time. It would make sense for Los Angeles to sign the former Red Sox great because they have a lot of money to spend.
