Raiders Cuts Off Trade Deal With Another Top Superstar, After Jimmy Garoppolo’s Release.

It didn’t take long for former New England Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to find a new home after being cut by the Las Vegas Raiders on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old has agreed to a one-year contract to join the Los Angeles Rams as Matthew Stafford’s backup quarterback, as first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Even though Garoppolo had early success after leaving the Patriots, leading the San Francisco 49ers to the verge of a Super Bowl in 2020, that season may probably be regarded as the pinnacle of his career to date.

Garoppolo would suffer injuries in the three seasons that followed his Super Bowl appearance, and he would play in just 32 games. But in the end, it was his 2022 foot injury that made Brock Purdy become more visible and eventually sign with the Raiders.

Even worse than expected, Garoppolo’s reunion with Josh McDaniels, the former offensive coordinator of the Patriots, did not help the 32-year-old’s career in the slightest.

For the Raiders in just seven games during the previous season, Garoppolo completed passes for 1,205 yards, seven touchdowns, and nine interceptions. After McDaniel was fired, Garoppolo served as Aidan O’Connell, the rookie quarterback,’s backup for the remainder of the season.
