Raiders Signs in a 32 Years Old Player With a Sum Of $300 million to Replace…

One of the best players on the offensive line is staying with the Las Vegas Raiders. NFL source Ian Rapoport has reported that the Raiders intend to sign center Andre James to a three-year contract. This offseason, James would have been a free agent. James’ contract, according to Rapoport, will be worth $24 million, of which $16 million is guaranteed. The center’s previous agreement covered a two-year period for $8.65 million.

Last season, James participated in and started 16 games for the Raiders; he only missed one because of an ankle ailment. He was just called for three penalties and gave up just four sacks. He participated in and started 15 games in the previous year; it was his second full-time season as a starter following the Raiders’ postseason run in 2021, in which he started every game.

In 2019, James, an undrafted free agent out of UCLA, was signed by the Raiders. During his debut season, he participated in 12 games and made one start. James participated in all 16 games for the Silver and Black the next season. James received an overall rating of 74.6 from Pro Football Focus for the 2023 season, good for ninth place among all active centers (minimum number of snaps necessary). In addition, he received grades of 75.0 and 71.2 for run blocking and pass blocking, respectively.
The Raiders’ decision to re-sign James is critical because without him, they would have needed to find a replacement starter to cover the void that James had been filling for the previous three seasons. James’s position on the offensive line is essential for a group trying to build.
