Red Sox Signed in a pitcher Worth $70.5 million to Replace Lucas Giolito who will be…

With the Boston Red Sox, Brayan Bello emerged as a front-line starter, and it appears that he will be there for some time to come.
Bello announced last month that he has been in contract negotiations with the Red Sox since the spring. It is said that these conversations have advanced quickly with the goal of securing Bello’s long-term stay in Boston.
The Boston Globe’s Alex Speier reported on Wednesday that “righthander Brayan Bello is in advanced talks about a long-term extension with the team,” citing sources in the business. “After 2028, when he would first become eligible for free agency, the deal would keep Bello with the Red Sox.”
Speier stated that it is unknown what the exact terms of the extension are.

In his two seasons with Boston, Bello—who made his Red Sox debut in 2022—has demonstrated a high ceiling and All-Star potential. Following a difficult rookie season, Bello started 28 games in the previous campaign, going 12-11 with a 4.24 ERA and 1.338 WHIP. In 157 innings pitched, he recorded 132 strikeouts.
Bello, who was signed by the Red Sox in 2017 as an international free agent from the Dominican Republic, advanced through the organization’s minor league ranks swiftly. He is now a contender to start for the squad on Opening Day, which is set for March 28 against the Seattle Mariners.
