While on Spring Training, Red Sox Successfully Trade Veteran, for $200 millions to…

Over the years, former players of the Boston Red Sox have returned to Fort Myers, Florida, for spring training in order to offer assistance.
David Ortiz and Pedro Martinez frequently visit spring camp to give advice and assistance. Along with the two, there was another previous star who played for the Red Sox and won two World Series.
After an incredible 16-year MLB career that ended in retirement in January 2022, Jon Lester surprised everyone by showing up at Red Sox spring training nearly ten years after he last took the pitch for the team.

It’s a little strange. I won’t lie,” Lester said to reporters, as reported by Christopher Smith of MassLive. It’s different just to be on this side of it. gaining some understanding of how the staff and coaches get ready for the day. That aspect of the game was never shown to me. So, cool but a little strange. Being with the men is enjoyable; notice how things have streamlined here. Everything has changed significantly from a few short years ago. It’s quite awesome.
Lester will spend a few days working as an instructor with his old squad. The left-handed pitcher spent the first eight plus seasons of his big league career as a homegrown of the Red Sox.

Midway through the 2014 season, Lester was traded by Boston to the Oakland Athletics during the trade deadline, ending his time with the Red Sox.
