HE’S BACK

In a confirmation they have interest in trading all the way to the top of the draft, the Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly one of several teams that have a meeting scheduled with USC quarterback Caleb Williams at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this week.

Williams is a lock to go first in the draft on April 25–27. As of right now, the Raiders own the 13th overall pick. Tom Telesco, the new general manager of Las Vegas, stated to reporters in Indianapolis on Tuesday that the team might think about trading up for a quarterback.

To persuade the Chicago Bears to give up the first overall choice would need an enormous financial investment on the part of the Raiders. The Bears are more likely to draft Williams and trade quarterback Justin Fields while they are still considering their options. It is anticipated that a decision will be reached before the start of the new NFL league season in two weeks.

Among the eight teams that NFL Media has reported to interview Williams, the Raiders have the lowest draft pick at the moment. Therefore, a number of other teams are interested in the Bears when they receive offers since their starting salaries are better.

When the Raiders contingent meets with Williams, they will have an advantage. Rich Scangarello, the new coach of the Las Vegas quarterbacks, recently worked with Williams to get him ready for the draft.
