NICK SIRIANNI”S GIRLFRIEND BRETT ASHLEY CANTWELL IS PREGNANT…

The NFL’s annual scouting combine is held in Indianapolis, where the tempering starts if the draft takes place in Mobile.

The oxymoron “legal tampering” has become a sports radio cliche to refer to the allowed 48-hour window for negotiations ahead of the start of the new league year on March 13.

This week in Indianapolis, when the wink-wink groundwork is set from trades to free-agent signings, the real meddling is ramped up.

Howie Roseman, general manager of the Philadelphia Eagles, will employ every resource at his disposal to restock a roster that began to leak over the last stretch of the 2023–24 campaign. A number of positions need to be addressed.

Naturally, Roseman won’t be able to address every need in free agency, but with two weeks left before the formal negotiation period begins, it seems appropriate to outline the Eagles’ most pressing needs, a possible free agency solution, and a move Philadelphia and Roseman should avoid making:

Fit: AJ Dillon: Dillon is a larger, chain-moving back with decent receiving ability. He finished his rookie contract with Green Bay with little touches, leaving some wear left on the tire.

Dillon was also, for the most part, a successful runner. Although D’Andre Swift’s explosiveness is gone, you acquire a north-south alternative that can more effectively complement Kenny Gainwell’s strengths and exploit Jalen Hurts’ ability to control defensive spacing in the running game at a lower cost.
