A really sad story: per the terms of the $56.2 million contract, the best quarterback in the Eagles was fired.

In Indianapolis, the annual NFL Scouting Combine has kicked off. Defensive linemen and linebackers practice live on Thursday. Tight ends and defensive backs practice on Friday. Quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs practice on Saturday. Offensive linemen practice on Sunday.

Based on analysis by NFL writers Yardbarker, these are the position groups that every NFC team needs to concentrate on the most.

DALLAS COWBOYS | Line of attack The team needs to bolster the offensive line because starting center Tyler Biadasz and left tackle Tyron Smith are both set to become free agents. Troy Fautanu, a tackle for Washington who won the Morris Trophy as the Pac-12’s top offensive lineman in 2023, is capable of playing all five line positions. However, during O-line drills on Sunday, Dallas may be drawn to another flexible athlete, possibly Kingsley Suamataia of BYU.

Giants of New York | Wide receiver | Marvin Harrison Jr. of Ohio State is a player the Giants would examine closely if quarterback isn’t their top pick in the draft (but not at the combine). They may also add a large receiver, like Florida State’s 6-foot-4, 215-pound Keon Coleman or Johnny Wilson’s 6-foot-7, 237-pound frame, to improve their 31st-ranked passing offense.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES | Running back | What this year’s draft lacks in high-end running back talent, it makes up for with several late-round options for the Eagles to see Saturday. At 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, Wisconsin’s Braelon Allen would fit perfectly in new coordinator Kellen Moore’s offense, and Tennessee’s Jaylen Wright could be one of the draft’s biggest sleepers.
