Doug Williams, one of the co-founders of the HBCU Legacy Bowl, expressed satisfaction after Saturday’s finale. Williams said, “I feel good,” to HBCU Legends. “First and foremost, the product is on the field, but I also think it’s great that people come to watch these young men. That, in my opinion, is the main point. Crowds are fun for everyone, especially when they get to perform in front of them. They had the opportunity to showcase their abilities.”

Quarterback Davius Richard of North Carolina Central led Team Gaither on a 76-yard touchdown drive in the first five plays of the game, earning him the title of 2024 HBCU Legacy Bowl Offensive MVP. Richard finished the drive with a four-yard touchdown rush to the left after completing two passes for 52 yards. Sadly, the 2024 Black College Co-Player of the Year hurt his lower right leg and had to be wheeled out of the stadium so that a doctor could examine him more.
