The Houston Texans are without a doubt a developing NFL force. In just one season after finishing 3-13, Houston emerged as a serious contender in the AFC thanks to rookie quarterback CJ Stroud and first-year head coach DeMeco Ryans. According to Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports, the two-time Pro Bowler recently caused controversy by following Stroud and Texans teammates Nico Collins, Tank Dell, and Brevin Jordan on Instagram. Following the designation of Houston as the favorite to sign Barkley on the open market by betting markets, that development occurred.
Alongside Stroud, the Texans’ offense has young players like Collins, Dell, and Jordan. However, they have a hole in the backfield thanks to the free agent status of their top rusher, Devin Singletary. Is Barkley going to unseat Stroud as Houston’s primary rushing back and split time alongside third-year rusher Dameon Pearce come next season and beyond? With March 13th marking the start of free agency, a marriage between Barkley and the Texans appears more and more likely.
