RED BULL ABANDON PLAN FOR CHRISTIAN HORNER HEARING AS……

This week was testing for the forthcoming Formula 1 season, and Red Bull Racing’s head coach, Christian Horner, was still in charge of his team as it started its quest for a fourth straight title.

A week ago, Horner was the main attraction at Red Bull’s 2024 car unveiling, which served as a virtual highlight reel highlighting the accomplishments Horner has made since taking over as team principal in 2005. Undoubtedly, the team manager with the longest stay in the Formula One paddock, Horner, understands how to win: Red Bull has won seven driver’s championships and six constructors’ titles under his leadership.

But no one else can understand how Horner has been on the job throughout an internal inquiry into claims of inappropriate conduct that parent firm Red Bull disclosed on February 5 as he carries on with “business as normal”—his own words at the launch last week.

Over two weeks later, the racing community is consumed with daily rumors and conjecture on Horner’s alleged actions by a team member. Since the probe was made public, Austria has been silent, but Horner has remained defiant, saying he will be a member of the team when the Formula One season kicks out in Bahrain the next weekend.

Despite F1 and its owner Liberty Media’s efforts to recruit American fans and make relationships with American corporations, the way this Horner disaster has been handled is completely out of the ordinary. Although both the governing body FIA and Formula One (F1) have released comments calling for a speedy conclusion to the investigation—statements that were made only after Horner’s story had made headlines—neither organization is investigating the matter at hand.
