IT’S VERY EASY TO PULL HIS CHAIN: CHRISTIAN HORNER REVELS IN TOTO WOLFF..

While Red Bull and Mercedes’ innovations may be the center of attention during testing, F1 technical analyst Sam Collins has disclosed that the new Ferrari SF-24 includes several parts that “nobody’s done before.”

The Sakhir circuit in Bahrain is the site of pre-season testing, and the Mercedes legality wire front wing and Red Bull’s shark bite inlets have generated a lot of discussion and writing.

But other teams are also experimenting with novel concepts.

“There’s a small exploration area there that should be explored.”
Ferrari entered the fight with their unique engine cover and Halo bits and bobs, areas that other teams haven’t yet exploited. They were third fastest on the first day of testing.
Collins informed F1TV that the improvements surrounding the engine cover area are only getting started, pointing to the pointed fin on the engine cover and saying, “Ferrari have been experimenting with this design.”
The mounts surrounding the TV camera housings have been tampered with by Ferrari; as they emerge from the bodywork, they are slightly kinked. The only team that does that is Ferrari.

“I just believe there’s a small window of opportunity to explore, and Ferrari has been doing a lot of that in this area of the vehicle,” the speaker said.

“They have some really interesting new bodywork on the edge of the Halo, which is why the aero rakes they were using this morning were sculpted around the bodywork.” It is barely visible protruding from the side of the Halo’s back.
