C.J Stroud sent a Brutal and Astonishing Message to There Biggest Rivalry….

With rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud and rookie head coach DeMeco Ryans leading the team to the AFC South title and the postseason divisional round, the Texans were one of the NFL’s biggest surprises in 2023. Tank Dell, another talented first-year wide receiver for Houston, broke his fibula during a Week 13 victory over the Broncos, keeping him out of the team’s postseason run.
Fortunately, it doesn’t appear that the damage will have any lasting effects. In a recent video, Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 showed shown Dell moving almost effortlessly during a charity softball game. Wilson also mentioned that Dell is anticipated to be on the field when OTAs start in the spring.

A third-round selection in the 2023 draft, Dell was having an incredible rookie campaign, amassing 47 receptions for 709 yards and seven touchdowns in just 11 games (eight of which he started). Prior to his injury, Dell solidified his position as Stroud’s go-to weapon, drawing double-digit targets in each of the nine games from Weeks 9 through 11 and an additional eight opportunities in Week 12. Throughout the season, he also saw some return action, recovering two kickoffs for 44 yards and 11 punts for 100 yards.

With Dell starting his second professional season and breakout receiver Nico Collins only being eligible for an extension after completing his third year in the league, Houston’s receiving corps is not short of young promise. The Texans’ starting quarterback is on a rookie contract for at least the next two seasons, which will make a new deal for Collins, a potential re-up for tight end Daltan Schultz, and any number of other extensions or signings much easier.

After suffering an ACL tear in the SEC title game in 2021, Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia, and a hamstring strain that kept him out of much OTA work and out of the game for Week 1 of the 2023 season, 2022 second-round pick John Metchie finally experienced his first taste of NFL action in 2023. In the end, he participated in every game starting in Week 2, hauling in 16 balls for 158 yards. It is hoped that he may have a completely healthy offseason and be ready to go when the regular season begins in September.

The group’s elder statesman, Robert Woods, signed a two-year contract with Houston last March, and his contract is good until 2024. Noah Brown, another 2023 FA signing, has an expiring contract, but the Texans might think about giving him a new one. Despite dealing with his own injury issues the previous season, Brown caught 33 passes for 572 yards (a career-high 17.2 yards per reception) and two touchdowns in 10 games (seven starts).
