WTVM AUBURN, AL – The Children’s Miracle Network is the beneficiary of the proceeds raised by the Auburn University Dance Marathon.

This Auburn event has raised money for the Miracle NIC-U and the new Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital in Columbus during the previous twelve years. More than $350,000 was raised at the 13th annual Dance Marathon at AU’s Student Center.

The number flip was unexpected to witness. Nobody really anticipated that we would raise so much more than we did, Ashton Hill said.

Hill is the president of the dance marathon at Auburn University. One of the best parts, according to her, was watching the kids come together.

Seeing those college students get together to raise money and take action is really inspiring.

“Watching those college students band together to raise money, help others, and be a part of something greater than just being students is really inspiring.”

Families whose children have received care at the children’s hospital were present during the event. Lauren Tysor, a student, reports that this was her third Dance Marathon. Her favorite part, she says, was seeing those miracle children.

“I’ve been able to witness the development of some of these kids who were just newer to our program, and it’s amazing to watch them grow up,” Tysor said.
