Red Sox Best SP Player Terminates His Contract and Refuses Extension As He Craves For….
The 2024 offseason has not produced any indications that the Red Sox squad is becoming better, and fans of the team have been left feeling quite disappointed. In three of the last four seasons, Boston has finished last in the division.
To try and lift them up and give them some hope, a former Red Sox pitcher had some uplifting words for Boston supporters and the team.
Recently, Jon Lester spoke with Bob Nightengale of USA Today about the “tough spot” that the Red Sox and Craig Breslow are in. Red Sox Nation loves Lester because he led the team to World Series victories in 2007 and 2013. Between 2012 and 2014, he and Breslow were colleagues on the Red Sox, winning one World Series together.
Lester is aware that the Red Sox are going through a difficult time, but he thinks they’ll emerge from the AL East cellar before too long.
But the Red Sox won’t be out of it for long, as we all know. He remarked, “They’re too smart over there.”
Although Lester may have personal prejudice about the situation because he and Breslow were formerly teammates, it’s encouraging to see a former Red Sox champion have hope that things can get better in Boston.
Lester has a valid cause for feeling a great deal of hope in Breslow. While Breslow was the Cubs’ assistant general manager, he had a significant role in changing the way the team develops pitchers.
In Boston, Breslow has already started taking similar actions.He brought in Justin Willard as director of pitching, Kyle Boddy as pitching adviser, and Andrew Bailey as pitching coach for the Red Sox.
Although there is a plan for a better future, the Red Sox still have a long way to go before they can make an impact in the division and avoid finishing last once more. Although Boston’s nucleus of talent is youthful and dynamic, the pitching staff is far from exceptional.
This offseason, Boston acquired some arms by dealing Alex Verdugo and Luis Urías. It is aware that pitching needs to be prioritized, as having depth in the pitching department is crucial for a team.
