CBS Philadelphia, PA Videos and images of Jason Kelce rejoicing following his brother’s Super Bowl LVIII triumph went viral. He was wearing a luchador mask for the majority of the evening.
It turns out that the source was a Texas-based 14-year-old Chiefs fan.
“I handed him my mask, which he dropped before picking it back up off the floor. Elijah Smith stated, “I got a picture with him and kind of just hung out, next to him, for five to ten minutes.”

Elijah believes that his luchador mask is a lucky charm for the group. When the Eagles lost to the Chiefs in the previous year’s championship game, the eighth grader also wore it. Trent McDuffie, a cornerback for Kansas City, even signed it.

“Last year, every time I put it on I feel like we scored a touchdown or got a defensive stop,” Elijah stated. He went on, “I feel a little bit superstitious about it because we made that 10-point comeback in the second half once I put it back on.”
