On Thursday, rapper Travis Scott hosted a celebrity softball game in which Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud participated along with a number of other celebrities.
The Minute Maid Park event’s revenues will support several charitable causes, including as the Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation.
Social media clips from the home run derby featured Stroud walking up to the bat and hitting the ball well into the outfield.
Damar Hamlin, a safety with the Bills, participated in the celebrity-filled Houston event as well.
Following his selection with the second overall pick in last year’s NFL Draft, Stroud led the Texans to the playoffs and was recently voted NFL rookie of the year.
Stroud, who received 48 of the 50 first-place votes, was the clear favorite to win the prize and did so with great ease.
The 22-year-old earned the third-best passer rating of any rookie with 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns, and five interceptions in his passing performance.
He was the best touchdown-interception ratio (4.6) and the league leader in passing yards per game (273.9), making him only the third player in NFL history to win both. The other two are Tom Brady (2007) and Joe Montana (1989).
