We’ve used ranking to kill time during the past few winters. We included other less enjoyable lists in addition to ranking every Eagles and Sixers player according to position.
We made the decision to examine every position in the Phillies’ illustrious 100+ year history and compile a list of the all-time greats at each position over the course of the next two weeks, as pitchers and catchers report to Clearwater for the 2024 Phillies season.
More over 2,000 different players have appeared in at least one Phillies game, so we’re going to keep our lists to 10 (plus a few more mentions). However, we did examine each person.

The Phillies have a very illustrious history with their starting pitchers. With notable players emerging in each of the more than 100 years of the team’s existence, the names in our top 10 truly cover the whole history of the group.
Here are some of the hurlers that we ranked between 11 and 20, almost missing the cut, before we get into the best of the best.
Given that Aaron Nola is expected to continue pitching in Philadelphia and is approaching some significant milestones, I am quite interested to see where he ends up.
