DEAL DONE: $98.2M PLAYER WAS SIGN FROM…..

The championship window Dan Campbell created for the Detroit Lions has them itching to try their hand at the Super Bowl. To fill up their roster and contend with the top NFC teams, they will need talented players.

Signing one of the best defensive linemen in Canada who isn’t playing in the NFL is one of the Lions’ early off-season initiatives to increase their chances of winning a Super Bowl.

While Mathieu Betts may not be a household name among NFL fans, certain ardent Chicago Bears supporters who closely monitor the team’s activities may be familiar with the player and his potential contributions to an NFL franchise.

Betts is a defensive end who was a member of the Bears practice squad prior to trying out for the major leagues. He tried his luck in the Canadian Football League, but was unable to make the 53-man roster. With the B.C. Lions of the CFL, the defensive lineman most recently set a league record with eighteen sacks.

Despite the fact that the Lions signed him to a contract, his place on the 53-man roster is not guaranteed until the beginning of the season. Nonetheless, the 28-year-old remains optimistic about securing an NFL job, according to John Hodge of 3DownNation:
