DEAL DONE: 85.2M PLAYER WAS SIGN FROM…….

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have had a difficult season in 2023–24, and they still have a lot of ground to make up in the rankings.

The Lakers, who have already had to battle their way into the postseason via the Play-In Tournament several times, are positioned as the ninth seed going into the All-Star break. Even with James’ excellent health, Los Angeles will need to step it up when the regular season returns the following week.

Some interpreted the Lakers’ decision to hold out at the NBA trade deadline as a sign that James might join with another team in free agency. James has not openly stated that he would remain in Los Angeles after this year, but he does have a player option for the 2024–25 campaign.

But via the Stephen A. Smith Show, James’ agent Rich Paul clarified LeBron’s position inside the team:

Although James is expected to be focused on rejoining the Lakers, teams such as the Golden State Warriors and the Philadelphia 76ers will be pursuing him in free agency. James may simply do this by re-signing with the team in exchange for a pay increase and declining his player option.

James would be a huge asset to any contending club, even at forty years old and in his 22nd season, but it seems that he is happy in L.A. Because they will have access to draft capital in the offseason, the front staff has also been open about their intentions to look at expanding the roster.

James is most certainly aware of the organization’s plans for and has already decided what he is going to do.
