In NFL history, one of the most well-known incidences of drunk driving took place with the Las Vegas Raiders. Henry Ruggs III, a rising wide receiver, drove very fast and drunk in Las Vegas and killed someone.

Henry Ruggs III, a former wide receiver for the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Las Vegas Raiders, is being paid $2.50 per hour, as reported by David Charns of 8 News Now.

Ruggs entered a guilty plea to operating a vehicle while intoxicated following his tragic car accident in November of 2021. Ruggs struck Tina Tintor, 23,’s car at 156 mph while operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content twice the legal limit, according to the prosecution.

Ruggs received a minimum penalty of three years and a maximum sentence of ten years. The 25-year-old will be eligible for parole in 2026. He was sentenced on August 9, 2023.

Since being drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Tennessee, defensive tackle Matthew Butler’s career hasn’t quite gone as planned.

He participated in eight Raiders games in total: two in 2023 and six during his rookie campaign. He’s been on the Las Vegas practice squad for a good amount of time, but he wants to do more than that.

Butler stated that the main thing he wants the public to know about the individuals on the practice squad is that they are talented.

Before the Super Bowl, he stated, “We’re not garbage football players by any stretch of the imagination,” in an interview with SB Nation.
