Tiger Woods will participate in an official PGA Tour event for the first time since the 2023 Masters.
Woods is in the field for the third marquee event of the year, the 2024 Genesis Invitational, which takes place at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California, next week. Woods last competed at the PNC Championship with his son Charlie back in December.Last season, the 15-time major winner participated at Riv, where he made the cut and ultimately tied for 45th place.
The field is extremely filled as a result of its heightened position. In Los Angeles, the GOAT will be joined by world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, and Max Homa. Additionally, the Genesis will have a 36-hole cut (top 50 and ties, players within 10 shots of the lead), in contrast to prior hallmark tournaments.

$20 million is the total purse, of which $4 million is to be awarded to the winner.

Riviera is a 7,322-yard, par-71 course.

Because he moved to LIV Golf, reigning champion Jon Rahm is unable to try to win back-to-back championships.

Dustin Johnson won the LIV Golf Las Vegas championship by a single stroke after birdieing three of the final six holes.

Johnson, 39, overcame chilly and windy conditions to finish first on the leaderboard at 12 under, winning his third LIV championship and taking home $4 million (£3.1 million) in prize money.

Peter Uihlein and Talor Gooch tied for second place with an 11-under total, while Matthew Wolf finished one stroke behind.

Johnson remarked, “That’s a great win.” “I knew it was going to be tough with the conditions.”

“A lot of really good players were right around the lead so I knew I was going to have to play well if I wanted to win,” the two-time major winner continued.
